More Eating In London...

My girlfriend told me Kate Moss once said, “nothing tastes as good as skinny”. If skinny gave me millions of dollars I may agree….who am I kidding??! For me, nothing tastes as good as food! It’s been complete piggery this week, I just don’t know how to say no… I tried thinking of Miss Moss today, telling myself those very words while I resisted a gelato shop, a cupcake shop…and then I thought- life is too short… Instead of indulging a little bit, I went on a complete rampage…

I made a pilgrimage to my absolute favourite little Eatery called Ottolenghi. They have several locations but I love none more than their Notting Hill spot. I think it might be special as my sister-in-law took me there on my first visit to London and was blown away by how delicious everything was. You can grab take-out or sit in if you’re lucky enough to score a seat on their first-come-first-serve communal table.

Stoked with my prized seat, I sat down and contemplated one of the toughest decisions of my day “what should it be, the couscous, aubergine, Moroccan carrots, beetroot…why am I limited to four choices…erm…ahh…ooh….” Under intense pressure by the very patient but growingly annoyed waitress I went with the aubergine, okra, grilled broccoli and roasted peppers. She assured me I made an excellent choice and rest assured she was right! It was so super duper delicious!
I left very full and content…but I couldn’t help noticing all the scrumptious sugary treats on my way out…uhoh….

I’m about to take the train back to my hotel when I notice this pizza shop from the corner of my eye. They had an orange car cut in half and used it to display their tempting proper Italian pizzas…. “But I just ate!” My better half says to its shameful counterpart… guess who won that battle…

I got a slice of margherita pizza and eggplant parm- for takeout of course! There was no chance I’d be able to eat it…or so I thought… half way through my 5 minute train ride I cant help ripping away bits of crunchy dough topped with fresh tomato sauce and buffalo mozzarella…

Now I’m back at the hotel tucking away at the eggplant parm.. It would be poor reporting if I didn’t!

Oh, it really is so delicious. I’ve had to put it away because I am literally a bite away from combusting. Thank goodness there’s a gym here!!!!! xxo
